It’s important to know that one or both members of the couple could have a mental illness that remains unknown and untreated and so if there are to be future children, trauma-informed help and support would need to be sought out. I did some (easy to read) research on an unacknowledged trauma and grief (see: https://minerva-access.unimelb.edu.au/handle/11343/37852) and wrote brief articles on such issues for clinicians but also for the general public (see: https://medium.com/@suzette.misrachi). The famous poet, Rumi, wrote: “Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”
